I use to work in an addiction detox center for kids. Now, when they get admitted they cannot bring any personal items. The kids can not bring in their own clothes, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, or toothpaste. This rule is in place due to the ingredients may have alcohol in it. My first few days, I noticed after the kids took their showers, they would come out with white spots on their faces.  I thought ,well ,that is odd. The next night the same thing happened.

Most of the kids had white spots on their faces. I, finally, had to ask what were they doing that for. They told me tooth paste helps with acne. Well, I have used all kinds of acne treatment products, but never used tooth paste. I still have not. I did start asking around and even some adults I asked said yes it does work. I never would have thought tooth paste would be an acne treatment product, but I guess it is. It would be up to you whether or not you try that. I have not used it as of yet, and I guess, it does not matter what kind of tooth paste. I will have to get back to you on the results.
